I have this engine on my go kart, and one day I tried to start it with the choke on and it started jumping. It had never done that before. Then when I tried to turn off the choke the engine would die. I figured out that if I try and start the engine with the choke off and give it gas it will run but when I try and stop the engine dies instead of idling. If anyone knows how I could fix this problem that would be great.

set the idle screw in some, located on the carb
start it keep turning it in till it idles, also check to see if the gas is turned on,

first thing is to clean and lube your torque converter to take care of the jumping. Then you could check your air cleaner to make sure it is clean and while your at it try changing the oil and install a new spark plug.
