Wow, this is a good question, but I'm not sure it has a clear answer. I don't believe either situation is "better" than the other, it all depends on the person's point of view. And there are many situations where leader/follower roles apply, like social, professional, and personal/family situations. Some people prefer to be in charge to give themselves a sense of control (either real or perceived), the leader types can also take credit when their plans bring success to the team, but the leader must also bear the responsibility of failure. Others prefer to take a subservient role in most situations, which relieves them of having to make important decisions, yet they often don't receive the credit they deserve for their contributions. Most people SAY they like to be in charge just to reaffirm that they have control of their own lives, but we all have to assume the role of "follower" from time to time.

people should work together in a relationship. You have to consider both people when doing stuff or someone feels bad.
On a job it is nice when everyone does their job and helps each other. I have been on jobs where some people made co-workers do their work and it was not much fun.
Good luck in life and love.
