Yep!!! My 23 year old Son got "officially" engaged recently. Then after I talk to him about it he said he isn't' even sure if they'll ever get married.
I told him he was wrong but he insists there may be a possibility that he'll marry her in a couple of years.
He is definitely in love with the "idea" of being in love. It's confusing to me, but his "grown" now and doesn't want to hear "advice" from his Mum!!!

The first and only time I got engaged I was in love with the actual person. I think I was in love with love when I was 12.

You mean that feeling where your heart drops into your stomach and is partially digested by the stomach acid while it flutters uncontrollably verging on the cusp of a cardiovascular seizure? Yeah, most people feel that way. The only cure is a harsh dose of reality when you tie the knot and things change. How do they change?

Well, it's like this. A woman marries a man thinking he will change. He won't.

A man marries a woman thinking she will never change. She will.
