For the life of me, I cant remember who it was, but I was watching a game recently and one of the announcers was talking about this happening. He was a healthy scratch, and both goalies did get hurt. He ended up playing , with permission from the NHL! Does anyone remember who it was?

The last time a team ran out of goalies was 1961 (and Jerry Toppazini took over the pads)
The last time a player not in the game was put in as a goalie was 1954, and it was the Red Wings trainer (who was fired by Mike Ilitch).

Ilitch fired the guy 40 years later? Talk about slow reactions.
