Ok This is pretty long but anyway.
1) Go to this website : http://keepvid.com/
2) Find a YouTube video you want to download and copy the URL in the address bar.
3) Paste what you have copied into the box at the top of the keepvid website
4) On the dropdown menu next to the box select youtube.
5) Scroll down and in a grey box below an advert there will be a download link. Right click and select ' Save Target As...'
6) Browse to your desktop and press save.
This video wil be in FLV format.
To convert it Find a converter over the internet like IMTOO Converter ( This Costs ).

If you want the easiest way (and also the fastest), use 'zillatube'
Zillatube easily download videos and it can download fast..
It has lots of other features too as it can play and convert videos.
It works very well...just google search 'zillatube'.

you can't save them to your desktop. you can only save them by emailing them to yourself or adding them to your youtube account favorites.
