She was killed because she advocated democracy and moderation. She was opposed to all of the radical Islamic practices and also favored a reconciliation with India. This political ideology angered radical Muslims in Pakistan and so they assissinated her.

Here I will explain it. She was kicked out of Pakistan earlier for some kind of illegal thing that she did I am not too sure. So she lived in canada after living in Canada for a while she decided she wanted to come back. So the pakistani government had mercy on her and let her come. They said she could run for prime minister again. She was running for prime minister and was throwing a rally. At the end of the rally she put her head out the car to wave to her people and was shot several times. Her killer then shot himself in the head.
Benazir Bhutto was a good person loved by many, I hope she gets her justice.

Someone did not want a stable power-sharing government in Pakistan. Bhutto was very unpopular with Muslim extremists. By killing her they could both destabilize the current government and thwart American plans for the region. On the other hand, she was also at risk from elements inside Pakistan's own intelligence community. Nobody can say for sure who was involved at this point.

She was a leader of the Pakistan People Party and at the same time she knew that if she ran again for PM she was going to Win. Although she wanted to fight against the extremists parties and the Taliban they didn't like that. She Knew by coming back to her home land where her father was hung and her brother was kill she was going to get some attacks on her but she was a strong person that wanted the best for Pakistan.

To destabilize Pakistan.

Edit: Musharrf is blaming it on Al Qaeda.

Al Qaeda flew two airplanes into the twin towers succesfully and made the towers collapse on their first attempt. Supposedly all the attempted assasination made on Bhutto was done by Al Qaeda. If Al Qaeda can succesfully infiltrate the U.S., hijack our airplanes, and crash them into the twin towers, then why was Bhutto so tough for them to kill this whole time?

There is nothing to stop Musharrf from allowing Al Qaeda to kill Bhutto or making it look like Al Qaeda killed Bhutto. On top of this, Musharrf would be taking a big gamble in taking a chance on Bhutto dying so why did he reject giving her security? Also, who gains the most out of Pakistan being destabilized? The U.S.. Just because Bhutto was for democracy doesn't mean our government wouldn't benefit from from her being assassinated. A destabilized Pakistan with unsecure nukes would definitely further the War on Terrorism.

Just look at how many of the presidential candidates are eating up Bhutto's assassination.

"If I were president and Bhutto were assassinated, I would *yada yada yada*"

Its pretty sick.

She was a leader for muslims, most of which are AGAINST democracy, which she supported; she wanted freedom, democracy and equality for her people, but extremists elements (terrorists) wanted her OUT because they feared her popularity and how it would impact their sick movement, which is barbaric and oppressive to all people but especially women.

Look up the Taliban if you want to understand that cruel and unfair mindset.
