Nintendo is known as having reliable hardware for their game systems. When you purchase a wii you get a 1 year manufacture warrenty and if anything is really wrong with it its going to happen before the year is over. Some places will try to sell you an extended warrenty for the wii like some guy did when I got mine but he turned around and said its not worth it because of how reliable nintendo is. The system has been out for over a year now and the only issues I have heard of were wrist straps breaking but nintendo has already corrected that.

The Wii is great when friends come over. Make sure to pick up an extra controller or get Wii Play.

the only problems I've seen with the Wii is that they're insanely difficult to find. Other than that, Nintendo has a history of producing fine products and if it won't be up to standards they are known for going the way of pissing off their fans in order to give them something that won't break.

Oh, and all the little accessories is where they make the real money, LOL!
