I prefer pads, but with "wings" it's gonna be able to be seen with my underwear. Plus, do I need to wear tampons? We don't do anything to makes me sweat, we might play soccer, but it would totally be small and easy. But I would be running.
Help?

Wear 2 pairs of knickers. The second one should be more of a shorty than a pant. It'll cover up all manner of sins. (or if you prefer a skort, this is as the name sugests, a skirt over shorts in one piece. I presume your wearing the ultra style pad. (very thin)

You can wear tampons, maybe a good idea, depends on how heavy your flow is, and you may want to use a panty liner for added protection any way.

If you get your period while in gym class, and you are not prepared (you are not wearing a pad), then you should go up to your teacher and ask if you can go to the restroom. If the teacher says no or asks why, then simply say that you are having female problems. They should get the picture. If you are uncomfortable asking your teacher or you don't have a pad or tampon in your purse, then ask if you can go to the nurse. Most school nurses have plently of supplies, and they know what you are going through. Now, if you are expecting your period, or you have already started, and wondering if you should wear pads or tampons during gym class is something else I can help you with. If you are worried about people seeing the wings on your pad when you are changing, then you don't really have a problem at all. Girls all have periods and they don't care if they can see the wings on your pad. Most girls don't even look down there. It is not like you are changing in front of a bunch of strangers and guys, these people should be your friends. They understand what you are going through. As for the protection part, you should wear whatever makes you comfortable. Tampons are less noticable if you are playing sports and moving around a lot. They don't actually work better than pads, but sometimes people can see pads through your clothes, especially gym shorts. It really comes down to what makes you feel better, and what you like best.

I absolutely hated having periods during gym class, luckily I've got 2 years of high school left and I'm not required to take a gym class anymore :) Pads are just, stupid. I hate them. Their big and bulky, and uncomfortable, and messy and stinky and there's just so many things about them that are gross. But tampons work wonders. I only use O.B tampons, I recommend them. Their non-applicator tampons, which I find is a bit easier, but there's really no difference, I just find that I can insert non-applicator tampons more comfortably than those with applicators. Its $5 a box, when their in right, you can't even feel em, and it doesn't even feel like your having your period! Its amazing. Tampons move with you, so that you can do everyday things and still be comfortable in the process. If you think non-applicator tampons are a bit gross or unsanitary, go for Playtex Sport, their great for when your going to be playing any sport, so they'd be perfect for your gym class! These are a bit more costly though, because they come in a much bigger box than the O.B tampons, plus there's an applicator. If you have cramps, I suggest you go to a drug store near you and buy Midol, its a pill that eases all menstrual symptoms! Perfect for gym class in my opinion, you'll be moving around and wont have much time to relax to make the cramps go away, so pop 2 Midol an hour or so before class and it should last you all day! Best of luck!

I doubt that other girls will be looking down there when you are in the locker room, and if they do, then so what? I'm sure there are other girls who wear winged pads in your gym class too. You don't need to wear tampons if you don't want to. I rarely used tampons during gym, instead, i used a pad with wings inside a snug pair of panties. I never had any problems and no one ever said anything.

I prefer to use tampons during gym. It's less of a chance you'll get a leak, which I think is worse than the wings being shown with underwear.

If your wearing shorts in gym make sure they are long enough and you will still be able to wear a pad without it showing. No you do not have to wear both tampons and pads.

You could buy a single package of non-wings pads--or remind yourself that nobody's going to be inspecting the outside of the crotch of your panties to see if there are wings or not.

While exertion may increase the flow a little, running and such won't make you gush. Weightlifting or other sudden weight-bearing exertion can.

Whether you opt to use a tampon is a personal choice, but if you like pads, there's certainly no need to switch. You've probably stood right next to girls in gym who were in their periods and you didn't know it.

I recommend to not wear a pad when you goes to the PE class. Just wear a sport tampon or junior size tampon. It's should fit you. This will help with for your period.

when I have my period in gym, I go to a stall to change so you can't see through. Also, if you wear sweats it won't look like anything different. I've tried using tampons for gym and trust me, they don't work.

Tampons are excellent choices for sports and swimming. If you get Tampax Pearl Lites, they work WONDERS (I love that product).

Or use a pad. Whatever is more comfortable to you.
