I have a 5 1/2 month old baby girl and on tuesday she started to show signs of a cold, and she she started to get a little diarreah. Now she very congested and has diarrhea very badly, yesterday i changed like 10 dirty diapers, and today i have already done three. She is not eating very well, she wont take solids, and has a hard time drinking her bottle. Last night She went to bed at 10, and woke up every 45 minutes, then at 2 am she woke up screaming, likke have never heard her scream before, untill about 3 when she fell back asleep. I called my doctors office but he is on hollidays until the 7th of january, so I am wondering if I should take her to the emergency room.

If she has had diarrhea for 24 hours she needs help to prevent dehydration and the additional problems that brings! Either take her to the ER or a walk in clinic!

I agree. A whole week is way too long. I usually follow the three-day rule myself. If things haven't improved in 3 days, then I go to the doctors. Keep taking her temperature too. The clammy and restless part worries me the most. Try to get into the doctor's today. She could be dehydrated by now and may need fluids. Pedialyte or even gatorade (check with the pediatrician first) might help her. Poor baby! Good luck!

I would try some saline drops or spray for her congestion. It can be very frustrating for a baby to be congested and not able to breathe through her nose. If she can't breathe through her nose, she will not be able to drink from a bottle easily either. With having diarrhea, you really need to push the fluids to prevent dehydration. If you get her congestion cleared out and she still won't drink her bottle I would definitely take her in right away. Good luck!

YES!!! You need to go to the emergency room or a 24 hour care clininc ASAP! Your baby needs to be checked for dehydration, if that takes effect it could be bad for your tiny one...she may need an IV to get fluids into her. A good rule of thumb is if a baby is under 6 months of age they should go to the doctor for everything...even the littlest problem! Good Luck!

Call the dr's office back and find out who is covering. They don't just go away without coverage. Then call the covering doc for an appointment today.
She sounds like she has the flu and should be seen by a doctor. Make sure you keep her hydrated. Pedialyte will help and have her drink water.

Poor little tyke.

I would definitely be headed to the emergency room. Babies can get dehydrated very quickly, and diarrhea can lead to dehydration in a very short amount of time.

Good luck, I hope your little one feels better soon.

If she's not taking in fluids and still has the runs that bad, then yes. Its very easy for babies to dehydrate.
