not according to commissioned salesmen. they won't even look at a woman shopping alone. I wanted to buy a washing machine, and about 6 guys were sitting at a table, ignoring me. I finally walked up to them and asked if no one wanted to take my money. they told me they were waiting for "my friend". I asked what friend they meant? they meant a man, of course. so, it's assumed that men are bigger spenders than women, even if that isn't the case.

No, I think women buy more often but men spend more money all in one shot.
