I'm thinking about making handbags with my first sewing machine but I'm clueless when it comes to how much fabric costs.

Where can I find cheap, cool, funky fabrics like those at: [link]

I would buy them there, but the fabrics are $8-14 per yard.

Is that the price I will find everywhere for fabrics like that?

I found fabric at my local Wal-Mart and craft stores for $1-8 per yard. However, they are either solid colors or have licensed character printed on them.

Thanks in advance for the help.

You like reproduction prints. They are cool, aren't they? Go to your local Jo-Ann fabrics and get on their mailing list, Then you'll get coupons for 45% off.

You can also wait for them to be discontinued, usually once a year.

Remember, these fabrics are licensed, just like the cartoon characters.
