Is global warming and kyoto really just a plot to undercut American Industry?

actually to critics of this many scientists do dispute this. Antartica is growing in mass. Polar Bear populations there are growing.

I got news for you. There ARE a significant amount of credible scientists that say man-made global warming is a myth. That's why when someone says it's a scientific consensus, they're lying to you or are just plain ignorant. Now whether Kyoto is to undercut American industry, that's debatable . . .

I don't know if this helps, but historic data expresses a possibility that the Earth should be in an Ice age at the moment, however the actions of past human activity have contributed to, or even caused this natural trend to change. If this is so, then as the Earth's natural cycle (whatever that may be) heats up as it would when exiting an ice age, and considering this natural change (if it) were occurring now with non-ice age temperatures as a starting point, rather than expected ice age temperatures, we would see the current global warming trends. This would not fit into the global warming myth that we are causing it now, rather our ancestors did it, a situation brought about by thousands of years of human activity. Alarmist would take this as we are now adding the straw to the camels back, and future generations will suffer as a consequence.

The man made theory is more than likely false and there is certainly no consensus on the issue as the far left needs people to believe. These people have sought to silence all debate in classic Stalinist fashion and that is usually a sign that one knows they are wrong. This whole thing is about a global government and wide scale wealth redistribution between the industrialized and non- industrialized worlds. Do Americans really believe that if we signed Kyoto that corporations would jump through hoops to meet the mandates rather than pick up shop and rebuild in a non-industrialized nation that is NOT limited by Kyoto? Say goodbye to the jobs that are left ace.
Most of us want to work on air and water pollution, fuel economy, VIABLE alternatives to fossil fuels and so forth but the reasoning behind it DOES matter as does how we go about reaching our goals. Jumping headfirst into a left wing propaganda machine will not solve the problems but we will wake up in a few years wondering what the hell we did.

The many scientists that do not believe in global warming never get on the news. It is better entertainment to feed every ones ego and make them feel they have more effect and control over the world than they really do.
Although there is less ice at the North Pole there is more ice at the South Pole. This is not the first time in Earth's history this has happened. It is caused by a slight wobble in the Earth's rotation.

Facts don't affect this crowd, much of the "consensus" was a fabrication which lives on in myths like 98% of scientists agree. These are complete fabrications that extremists like to spread to benefit their personal agenda. 98% of scientists can't agree on anything and most know nothing about the climate. Most top climate scientists do not believe in man made global warming and almost all have been censured for saying so.

Most scientist don't believe in global warming. At least the ones who actually are educated in the field of climatology.

It would be just another prop of the left thrown on the scrap heap and forgotten in their quest of greater and greater power over the individual.

Liberals just don't let facts get in the way of a good crisis. List of scientist who don't drink kool-aid below. It has thousands of names of scientists who actually use science and not threats of pulled funding or politics to make their findings.

What a great opportunity lost to bash the United States.

...I believe global warming is based on faulty ideas, false assumptions, and wrong conclusions, and seeks to weaken the sovereignty of the United States, by making it subject to the dictates of the United Nations, which is run by 3rd world and Marxist countries, who seek the overthrow the US or at least damage it, economically and otherwise.
...A lie told often enough quite often is believed. Few politicians care about what is true; what they are after is political power, and that's what global warming and Kyoto is all about - it is alarmist, is based on junk science, and seeks to scare people into submission so a few can grab power (but notice they are slow to do what they want everyone else to do).
...Thirty years ago, the big scare was "global cooling".
...God is sovereign over all, we are told in Scripture.

I think the danger is magnified for political gain. Not that it matters, the three largest polluting countries (of which the US is NOT among) couldn't care less about it. Al Gore can ride around like a tool all day, in the end your best bet is probably to buy a really good sunblocking lotion.

It's pretty obvious the global warming/cooling is a reality.

How would any of the scientists explain ice ages and cooling periods.

What they are undecided upon is whether or not current 'warming' trends are due to human interaction, or if its a natural process as it has been for centuries.

If a significant number looked at the data and found that it did not show that human activity was contributing to global warming, then that would be important. That's the way science works. If figures can be tested and disproven, then science does not accept the hypothesis. However, 400 is not really a significant number when compared with the number of scientists who have tested and retested the data and have come to the conclusion that there is a human component to climate change.
