They have all the vowels , in the right order.

facetious means saying something in a joking manner. I think abstemious means to abstain from something.

Aside from the other possiblities that people have mentioned, the only one I can think of is that they are "big words." In other words, if you use those words, you'll probably impress some people with your vocabulary.

(When I was a freshman in college, a prof used the word "facetious" and a girl in class got really wide-eyed.)
