I'm under the assumption he was not. I think this explains his behavior on the ice.

Yes, Zam, he was dropped several times. The good news is he went on the form a company, with his brother, former Atlanta pitcher Steve Avery, that produces a great line of business products (mainly printer templates, like return labels, name badges, etc.)! So, he has a career to fall back on when his playing days are over.

He was actually breast fed by "Bessie" the Avery family cow, whom loved to eat wild onions out of the pasture. This explains the bad taste and sour attitude he has lived with his entire life.
While he was nursing, Bessie would "relieve" herself right onto little Sean's head.
Dr. Phil cant even fix trauma like that..

Great answer by Zam - that sounds like the most plausible explanation.

He reminds me of some kids I've seen with ADD, the way he seems to just run around and agitate everyone.

actually his behavior is indicative of someone held to much. His inner child has never left the comfortable arms of his mother. that is why he feels safe to do the things he does yet never has to feel the need to take responsibility for them. he is warm and safe from all harm with the mighty protector standing guard over him.

Most hockey players know that when the linesmen step in, its time to stop throwing them. Apparently Avery doesn't get that part of the NHL or any of the rest of it.

He was held directly under a power line for extended periods of time.

I'm guessing his house had lead paint and asbestos as well.

Doesn't matter to me--as long as he's effective for the Rangers!! But, Zam--that was a good answer!

Hate him all you want, but the Rangers always play better, when he is in the lineup. He is in the middle of everything, good or bad.

ROFL! I guess that's why the Wings got rid of him . . .

My favorite was when he was on "double-super-secret probation" when he played for Anaheim.

He does have issues, doesn't he?!!

I think he was dropped a few times.... don't know about if he was held though.
