Yes, you can goes to the OB/GYN. If you don't want any more baby. And you can get a birth control. It's will take a while to adjust your body system and you will get fewer period. Your doctor will tell you about birth control. And, you won't get any more baby. I'm sure, your doctor will tell you everything, if you want to know. There is nothing to be worry about this. You will be perfect fine.

Don't be afraid of taking birth control. That's what it is. Birth control, not termination. If you wanted to make the ovulation cycle permanent you would do something more permanent like a tubal ligation or the procedure that blocks your tubes (can't remember what that is called), Taking synthetic hormones is a temporary fix. Unless your body is ready to go through menopause, you should not have any problems. Don't be afraid to take something by mouth.

If you are afraid of taking birth control pills, try the new Implanon. It is the single rod that is inserted in your arm that lasts for three years. You could try that as an alternative. And there is Depo.

Remember, you have alternatives. If all else fails, there is always, the old standbys....condoms and diaphrams. But they take a little of the fun out of it for some people. Just figure out what is best for you.

By the way....10 years between sets of children...that's a long time....I don't know if I would want to wait that long to begin again. It's a personal choice! And the choice is yours!!! Make it with your spouse and be happy!!

Good luck and don't let fear drive your sex life and your decisions to have children and when!

You can have children no matter how long you have been on birth control. The way to make yourself not capable of having anymore children is by having everything removed. If you want to wait that long I suggest getting an IUD, its implanted into your uterus by your doctor, it can last up to 5 years, no pills to remember or anything. You just have your babies so I know you can't think about having more in a few years but you never know before the 5 years is up you can have it removed and try or you can wait the 5 years and have another one inserted if you still want to wait.

Congrats

I have no idea where you heard that if you take BC for over a year you can't have kids. It is WRONG!! After you go off the pill, it can take a few months for your body to ovulate normally again, but you will not be sterile. My aunt was on the pill from age 14 (medical reasons) to age 33 and she got pregnant 6 months after she went off of it.

I was on the pill for over 5 years. I stopped taking it and got pregnant the first month. Then I was on the pill for over 3 years. I stopped taking it and got pregnant within 3 months. The pill will not make you infertile.

Who and where did you hear THAT from?

I've been on Kariva for almost two years, and I'm sure I'll have no problem conceiving.

You can get pregnant ON birth control. Some forms you may have difficulty, but I doubt its impossible.

Talk about it with the doctor. DON'T get depo provera though! (Horrible health issues and side affects).

Umm......I know people who have taken it for many many years. I think you'll be ok. Maybe you should get an IUD so that you don't have to worry about taking a pill everyday.
