SamD - not people like me, it doesn't interest me one jot but I wondered why other people care so much.

Nikafel - there are better idols than the tatty "celebrities" in these mags. People of real talent who have done something worthwhile and virtuous in the world.
I look up to Gandhi, Mandela, Jesus and great writers like Dickens, great actors like Laurence Olivier but I don't care much about their personal lives but only what they stood for. Why aim so low with your idols?

I used to. At one point I was beyond obsessed with a certain person, it became very unhealthy, to the point where I forgot about my own life. So, when I come here and see crazy things like "Where can I get a copy of so and so's birth certificate" and "what kind of toilet paper do you think so and so might use" it saddens me, because unfortunatly not everyone breaks away from the insanity of a fake land known as hollywood or those trashy "entertainment shows" like access hollywood and such. To some people, that IS their life, and they have nothing else.. but the celebrity... which btw, doesnt even know they exsist.
To many people are obsessed. Too many people care far to much and to many people are getting sucked into a world that they will -never- be apart of.
I refuse to watch those shows anymore or buy those mags. There all lies anyway, but for some reason, I guess most 'want' to believe its true, thats why their bought.
My mom is my role model. Sounds corny, but that woman bends over backwards and turns inside and out to help me with whatever it is I need, and she is honestly the kindest person I have ever been forutnate enough to know.

I use to when I was like twelve but I have better things to read actual novels by my favourite writers Stephenie Meyer, Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet, etc.
There a waste of money and are everywhere in your room,
they just show the stupid stuff done by celebraties not the good if they done any??
They destroy peoples lives with rumours and stories, that is why I do not find the need to buy them.
I am far to busy for those sort of nonsence written in them!

Based on observation, I think they just like to watch people humiliate themselves so they can tell themselves they're not as screwed up as they are, or so they can say even though these celebs have more than I do, at least they also suffer like I do, or more than I do. I believe it has to do with the fact that many people are schadenfreudes. It's for this same reason reality shows with a lot of drama do so well.

I don't waist my money buying them. I believe that celebrities are too highly exalted for doing nothing but sing, dance, and/or act. None of which requires much skill. It's a waist a time reading about them when I can be reading something that will help myself out instead of wishing I were them.

I don't buy the magazines, but I certainly read usmagazine.com, people.com, omgyahoo.com and tmz.com, lol!
To me, it's pure entertainment. When you see the flaws in their lives, it shows that they - like us "little people" - are human and make boo-boo's. Plus, reading the funny comments on how they dress or the mishaps they did is hilarious!
You can thumbs down me if you want. I'm just being honest! :)

Actually, only the pics indicate that they might be doing those things. In real life, they dress even worse than the pics depict them . . . And their lives are much more boring than your own neighbors' . . . But the periodicals make a fortune off of them . . . Thanks mostly . . . To people like you.

I don't buy them but, if I'm at a doctors office waiting or something I'll pick one up...I guess I do it to have something else to think about besides all the sadness in the news today

no joke... my wife is addicted to that celeb garbage...even watching those tv shows on celeb news. Why... I don't get it either. Who cares what these overpaid whine-bags are doing. Give me a break and deal with reality.
