When you drink from a bottle like bottled water or soda, do you raise your pinky? I was just drinking and realized hey, I do that! Is that the ultimate sophistication or what?

sometimes.. it depends how quickly i am drinking. if i am chugging it crunching the bottle.. then i hold on. if i am tilting it back and drinking it slowly i'll let my pinky go up a little bit and but a little bit of pressure on my thumb so that it will raise a little bit higher without me having to move my hole hand or head.

You are not alone. I do the same and often catch myself to stop. I found out that is not the correct thing to do(raise you pinky) To think I thought I was doing it right since my tea parties..lol Here are some interesting thoughts on that topic

i hardly drink directly from a bottle. i mostly use a glass or a straw. and when i do drink frm a bottle then i dont raise my pinky. i saw in a cartoon that its in the rules or ethics and manners but never heard of it again until now. so thanks ill try to remember that frm now.

My mother does it, and apparently i do it all the time too, just dont realize until sumone points it out too me ,,, ha ha just noticed now while im typing my pinky is up in the air hahaha

not alot of people do that but sometimes, people do that when they are drinking tea or something cuz its supposed to look "fancy" and sophisticated (as u no, it seems)
but not alot of people do that while just drinking water or soda or something like that

lol i sure do..don't know why either. I always have from the time i was little...my mom doesn't nor does anyone in my family do...it just feels more natural to raise my pinky.

Yeah, I do it without realizing it. We use our pinkies for balance, the way a cat uses their tail for balance.
