Which is the fastest animal ?

I read somewhere that it is a small animal which looks like wallows but i found nothing that mention this on the web . Please give some precisions about it . thanks

The Peregrine Falcon has been reported to reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour during vertical dives. Supposed to be fastest animal on earth.

cheetah isn't necessarily the fastest animal in the world.

As far a land animals, the cheetah rules topping 70 mph. In water I think the fastest is the sailfish which can reach up to 68 mph (two below the cheetah but if you think thats slow consider how dense water is). By far though, the fastest animal would be a bird. The peregrine falcon cruises in the air at around 40-68 mph but when it stoops (dives) it can exceed 200 mph.

The cheetah is the fastest runner. The sailfish is the fastest swimmer. The peregrine falcon is reportedly the fastest flier, but this is controversial as it is actually in free-fall when it achieves its maximum speed - in level flight, the fastest flier is the eider duck.
