Well yes and no. I have my 24 year old cousin staying with me. She fell on some hard times. So that's been a constant since a week before the holidays. She got a job though so it's going alright. It's just never easy to have the whole routine shifted. Other then that my uncle came out but that went well to. So this year since we avoided the REAL family gatherings and especially my sis in law....it's all good. I got by this year on socail drinking...lol

I'm the mom...i took care of that situation this year...i have a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law that seem to cause conflict every year...have 6 kids...3 married..1 widowed with friend and one with friend...finally told them all to knock it off..including my own...told them not to come if they didn't want to be here..with everyone...only had 2 come home..it hurt because the others are coming at different times but it was nice..no tension

Nowadays, specially in American families, to share companion is seeing deteriorating day by day. Being the family the major value in the life, should not have being that way, there is nothing more depressive especially on elder days to be alone and die alone.
The culture in other countries especially in South America and many other countries in the planet is quite different, family love each other, tolerate, help and show their respect and love among themselves, mainly to elder members.

No, I might not want to be around them all the time, but I can certainly enjoy their company for the holidays. There is nothing as important as family. So stop being so selfish.
