He said on the Oprah show that the AIDS crisis in Africa needs to be a GLOBAL ISSUE, and that we need to step in and "rectify" the problem, DOES anyone else BELIEVE that we have enough of our OWN problems to not worry about Africa's problems also? I guess him and Oprah will build more schools over their and clinics when we have children here in need of schools and people needing healthcare....opinions?

Jneg we might give money at the Federal level but according to Obama its not enough, he wants to and I quote: SOLVE the AIDS problem in Africa! DON'T we have enough problems here on our own soil to solve?

No ,it is not our problem and if we keep voting in the same type of President we will be taxed to death so we can support every other country and watch our own go to Sh**.
Obama is not for the American way of life,he does not even stand for our pledge of allegiance and will keep our men and women in a war that is only political like Vietnam was.
I would not vote for him just because he is African American the same as I would not vote for Hillary just because she is female. There needs to be substance to our next president and neither of them have any.

I hadn't heard that yet but if it is true it is just a sympton of the growing epidemic called liberalism. To suggest such things tells us that individual Americans won't do the right thing on their own. That is a complete falsehood.
American individuals, corporations and non profits are the most generous people in the world. Along those lines; if Oprah wants to build a school, hospital or series of skating rinks in Africa, more power to her. She sees a need and puts HER money where her mouth is.
If we had a smaller less costly government, then we taxpayers will have more of our own disposable money to spend and donate where we see fit.

He is running for President of the UNITED STATES not AFRICA. Why don't he and Oprah help the nation that got them where they are first? Oprah said the drums of Africa still beat in her heart. When was she born in Africa? If he is elected his people will be given everything before other races are considered. I would bet money on it.

Here we are, the richest nation on the earth. We have wealth and are poverty looks like the Ritz compared to third world poverty. And what are we doing with the abundance that we have? Africa has some real problems, can we as the good ol' USA help, certainly. If we don't try to help a country in need it just shows one thing about our nation as a whole and a root issue. SELF-CENTEREDNESS. Do you we need to address problems here, yes, should this all fall on the Governments shoulders, NO! "It's not what your country can do for you, it's what you can do for your country." Take time, volunteer, give to charity, give of yourself and this country will be better off, and we might even be able to look beyond ourselves to see the greater needs of the world.

I agree, there are so many problems here that we need them taken care of first. Our schools are so overcrowded that it is not fair to our children. I think it is wonderful that famous people use their own money to support such causes but I do not think it is a government issue. The UN can take it up as an issue. If the American people want to help, there are many organizations you can contribute to who will help the people in need in the other countries. Help America first!

Again a Democrat tries to get attention by not telling the entire truth.
Bush visited and pushed for $15 Billion for aids in Africa back in 2003.

Spoken like a true America. Every man for himself, Dog eat Dog, a Rat race and only the strong survive. No need to waste money helping anyone else just get all you can and can all you get. And we wonder why America is sinking.
Maybe China and Japan and other countries should stop loaning America money and just let us go bankrupt after all they have their own problems.

I think that Africa needs to pull it's own butt out of the fire. That entire place is a welter of chaos, idiocy, and corruption. We couldn't really help 'em anyway, they wouldn't listen.
