The reson the patriots have more fans is because people abandon their long liked teams to join the large number of fans just because the pats are 15-0 and by and chance they lose to the giants these people wold go all the way back to their old teams

you are RIGHT! I hate bandwagon fans... If I have to see my team suffer through crappy season so should everyone else... That's what a true fan does, otherwise they shouldn't watch football. Crappy years keep it real and make wins super sweet. Plus it's great when your team is the NFL's underdog at seasons beginning and starts kicking butt on the field!

I agree with you to some extent. You should be suspicious of all Patriots fans who have never lived in New England, though you should hear out their reasoning (maybe their parents raised them to be a Patriots fan). The reason for this is because people want to be associated with a winner. Think of how many people liked the Bulls in the 90s and then jumped ship when they had those horrendous years from 99-03. The only thing I don't agree with is you think people will abandon the Patriots if they lose ONE GAME. If they go 15-1 and still win the Super Bowl there will still be a lot of people on the banwagon.

I think that's definitely part of it. The same thing happens anytime a team - in any sport - goes on a great run, and especially when they win championships.

I know many on here are too young to remember, but at one time there were a huge number of 49ers fans all across North America. Now, outside of San Francisco, how many 49ers jerseys and fans do you see? This bandwagon jumping is just something that happens with good teams.

As much as I hate the Patriots, I have to disagree. The bandwagon has probably gotten more full, but I think it pales in comaprison to things like the late 90s/early 2000s Yankee bandwagon.

The Patriots fans have, however become 3 Million times more annoying... without a doubt.

Well hard to say, Mass, CT, RI and New Hampsire have a lot of people, the other two new england states dont but they do. I think often fans just dont come to boards unless their team is doing really well.
Remember at the beginning of the season how many charger fans were here. Now how many do you see, not too many.

I agree when the patriots loss to the giants they r going to go right back to there old team. That's not right if you have a favorite team you should stick with them all the way if you dint your just backstabbing them for no reason

I stick to my team no matter how well they are playing or what their chances are, but I do go to games of teams that are playing a really good season just so I can see the team if you know what I mean

More fans than whom?
If you are rooting for them to go undefeated and they lose and then you do not support them anymore then you are not really a fan, are you?
My opinion is that it seems that they have a lot of fans because they are winning and their fans are more vocal than the rest of us....

True. These are the same ppl who wore Montana jerseys in the 80's and donned Yankee hats until 2000.
