Enter the BIOS (It'll say something like "Press DEL to enter setup" just after you turn the power on. The button you press to enter setup could also be F1 , F2 or F10, you'll have to watch the screen closely and see that it tells you) and change the Boot up devices so that the first Boot up device is the CD ROM/DVD ROM. Then put the XP disc in the CD ROM drive and it'll start the installation. Just follow what the disc tells you to do and some point during the setup it'll format the hard drive for you so there's no need to do that separately.

first you would need to change the configurations in BIOS and tell it to boot up from the windows xp CD not from the hard drive. When you tell it to boot up from the windows xp CD then put the CD inside your computer and restart. It should go to a kind of blue screen that it will say for example, press enter to do a clean install or press escape to abort. It will say something like that and then follow the instructions that it gives you

To format the hard drive go to start menu at bottom of screen, click on all programs, then accessories, then command prompt. That takes you to DOS screen. on dos screen type format c: and follow directions.

Top reinstall just put the XP disk in and follow directions.
