ive heard about alot of nasty side effects about depo and i've heard that you shouldn't have an IUD unless you've had a child...

One reasonably-effective non-medication method is the diaphragm and spermicide. The diaphragm is mentioned in the article above.

My friend had an IUS fitted (its an inter-uterine system so it slowly releases progesterone to form a mucus plug and thin the uterus as well as blocking it the cervix itself) and she is 23 and has never been pregnant or had a child. I have another friend who just had one fitted and she has never had a child either. They both love them and the advantage of them is that you can take them out if you get side effects (unlike the injection, where you have to sit it out) and one of them no longer has periods at all from it. In the UK I have never heard of it being restricted to people who have only had children...

I definitely do NOT recommend depo provera.

Which pills have you tried? I'm on a low hormone dose called Kariva and I've had no side affects.

Try the patch maybe?
