There are thousands of planes taking off and landing. it really just comes down to odds that something well happen. Yes you could crash. But you can do that in a car, get struck by lighting, a dog kills you, you have cancer, or any number of other things!
If you live your life in fear, then there is plenty of things to look for!

You were perfectly fine flying as a child because you had no fear. You were innnocent then and didn't know about the world or any of the risks there are when you fly.Your parents were the ones worrying for you at that time. Now that you have gotten older you have read stories about plane crashes and saw all the footage about 9/11 so your subconcious brings that fear to the surface because you are now aware.

Let me assure you that the flights from Belfast to the Isle of Man are a lot better now the airline you flew on must of been one of the early ones flying is just about the safest form of transport you can get the best way to get over you fear is to book a short flight to somewhere you will find that all airlines are very sympathetic to people who have a fear of flying and are very willing to help you any way they can

I am now, after almost running into a mountain in a storm in a 4 seater plane in Central America.
Before that I flew all over and thought nothing of it, but that was a CLOSE call and it changed my concerns about flying.
We were at a lodge out in Parismina, Costa Rica, and a 7.4 earthquake hit the region and destroyed the lodge. They came to evac us out and the pilot had been flying almost 24 hours straight, rescuing people out of the jungle.
We were flying in a storm, shrouded by clouds, when suddenly, I noticed that there was an updraft and the altimeter showed us shooting straight up, as in STRAIGHT up. A split second later, we ****barely**** cleared the top of a mountain. The pilot looked at me and said, in a VERY shaky voice, "um, did you see that?"
I said yes...nervously. We landed safely, an hour plus later, and after I flew back to the states, i have NEVER set foot in a plane again and dont care if I do again.
The storm, the updraft on the front side of the mountain, and the clouds, all contributed. Fortunately I am here to tell this story.

Smaller Aircraft can give you the feeling of insecurity and will be better in future if you choose a bigger version.I assure you that Aircraft and crew flying from any area in the UK is safe and operate under strict safety laws. They must by law issue instructions to passengers regarding their safety in the event of an incident over water. It is a very rare occasion nowadays for anything to go wrong. As small as the plane appears they have powerful engines and cope easily with any event beleive me.You can be assured that it is safe to fly without exception.

I love flying. We've had a few close calls on those little sea-planes, but I'm not even afraid of crashing into the sea. My only fear is crashing onto(into?) a mountain.

im petrified of flying, but that dont stop me as i love goin on holidays abroad, as soon as i come to my gate thats when the dread hits me, i always end up convincing myself that our plane will crash, the taking off is a nightmare, i have to try and distract myself, by looking at a mag or something (which never works) then if we hit turbulence ****, i cry and grab hold of my boyfriend until its over, it takes me ages to sum up the courage to goto the toilet, because as soon as i stand up, my legs are like iron lol, my boyfriend dosent understand why i put myself through it, and i ask myself that same question when we land, then i get to see the lovely sights and beaches and the gorgeous food and people, and it makes me forget.... until the flight back home that is, thats even worse!

I hate flying. Taking off terrifies me rigid, If we hit turbulence I'm in tears. I hate being cooped up in a plane that frankly shouldn't be in the air considering it's weight!!!
I am well aware of how it all works with thrust etc and am well aware that my fear is irrational but hey ..... it's just how my mind works!
