Its an old military base that has wide landing strips for experimental airplanes, jets and such. Because its all experimental they have top security there, which means if your unauthorized to go there (like any military base) they will escort you away from the gate under armed guards.
After the Roswell crash in the 50s, there became this whole conspiracy thing about how aliens were taken to the base and examined along with their aircraft. They used the base for the stealth bomber testing and I am sure there are other things that go on there they don't need anyone to know about until its perfected. Of course, those that love a mystery want to keep the conspiracy thing going it certainly sells a lot of tourist amenities at Roswell, New Mexico.

Area 51 is one of 120 "areas" set up by the federal government. Area 51 houses Groom Lake, a 'secret' Air Force base, secluded and private, used for flight testing and maintaining high-security aircraft. It's been around since WWII, and was deemed as a secure base to keep spys for the Soviets from looking in on our new developments.

Because of the intense security, people think there's UFOs and alien craft being experimented with there, but that's at *THE* secure facility in central Utah. (The Air Force loves it that everyone thinks that Area 51 is the place where the aliens are kept - it keeps them from discovering the real facility...)

If this IS a serious question I'm going to tell you no. However, there is most likely a top secret base somewhere in the US that does some secret research like an area 51 would. however, if area 51 was real just think why would they release such a program to the public. They would populize a top secret site.

Yes.

Most people in the industrialized world know about area 51. It's been talked about a fair amount in the media. Wikipedia has a good article on the base. Most of their past programs are known about, as it its location, size, geography, etc.

There are several thousand people who work at the base, all of them likely know more about it than the Wiki article and I'm sure several folks at the White House, members congress, the military, CIA, and various private aerospace companies likely know something more about it.

If you want to know if someone knows about something specific at area 51, you need to ask a more specific question. Otherwise, many people know about the existance of the base, general information about the base is public knowledge, and the details of the current projects at the base are obviously known by those working at the base, for aero-space companies, and parts of the US government and military.

it's a secretive place in Nevada, like in the middle of the desert. It's government protected and anyone who gets as close to 40 km will get arrested. Planes that fly over the area get shot down. They have heat detectors in their sand so they know whenever someone's coming.

What's inside? Who knows.

The government says it's a place where they do all their nuclear testing but.......you know, it's the government.

Many says it's a place with ufos and aliens and all these crazy things. But the only people who know are the secret agents who work there (by the way don't get to go home, and if they do, are VERY VERY secretive)

everybody know about area 51 but because the gov't have try to keep it a secret is that more and more people know, did you know that ther movie indepence day 4 the producer took some footage from that area but then the gov't didn't let them go further than that cause is to secret and they got stuff from rosswell and more

I don't remember where it is located, but I do know that they have all alien space craft in their hangers. It is believed that they have used this alien technology to make many of todays products. On the Discovery channel they were saying they the government has created a supersonic airplane that can go mach 7 or 8 while the fastest one used at this time is around mach 2 or 3. They say that this plane was created with alien technology and it caused billions of dollars to make. They showed proof on the show. Many people believe thaty they house dead/alive alien lifeforms and study them.
