It kind of goes with your previous question, only with one major difference. The term UFO means just that: Unidentified Flying Object. Many people see these and make a fuss over it just because they didn't know what they were. Some objects aren't even "flying." Documented ones that come to mind: a train headlight on the horizon, Venus, a distant squid fishing boat with lots of bright lights on it. But as soon as some people see something they don't recognize, they rush right to the most implausible explanation, just because it is the most exciting.

There are many prosaic explanations for UFO sightings. Many have been proven to be nothing extraterrestrial. But people keep believing, especially when television news personnel demonstrate their ignorance and lack of investigative ability by running a story on the air.

Don't be so sure, Little Lisa. E-mail me your story. Give as much detail as possible. A different perspective may help. I've read a lot and had experience with these things.

Ahh UFO photos, the easiest thing to fake in the whole world. Thousands of photos of UFO's have turned out to be fakes. The UFO may be a balloon, a model or a computer created image, they are all easy to do. Although there is also the genuine mistakes when the photo may not be a fake but the person who took it genuinely believed it was a UFO. People mistake planes for UFO's, birds, balloons and sometimes even clouds. some people say they have seen ufos crawling in the sky early in the morning but actually its just those artificial man-made satellies having light reflected from the sun or it may be venus "the rising star". The thing is that 95% of photos taken are either fake or proven to be something else. It is very hard to tell if a Ufo photo is fake just by looking at it. there was even a baloon wrapped in a foil makin git look as if it has light.

Astronomical Events such as the northern lights, meteor showers or comets have been known to fool many people into believing they have seen a UFO. Comets have been the cause of mass UFO sightings. Many people will report seeing a UFO slowly move across the sky with a tail behind it. Also in an unfortunate case 20- 30 people killed themselves in a cult suicide, they did this because they believed there was UFO behind the shoemaker comet and their souls would go up to it when they died.

Meteor showers can also cause people to believe they are viewing many UFOs in the sky. Well they are wrong. They are just small pieces of rock bouncing of the Earths atmosphere or burning up with atmospheric friction, that's it, nothing else too it.

Clouds have also been known to fool people into thinking they are UFO's. As you know the sun never goes it just goes out of view due to the Earth turning. Well if clouds are high enough they can still be lighted up by the sun. If you were to view these clouds at night when they stand out they will appear to be a glowing object. These clouds are called lenticular and tend to form in a round shape . Noctiluscent clouds also tend to form high up in the atmosphere and be made up of ice particles and debris. The ice particles reflect the sunlight causing the cloud to appear to glow.

Ball lightning has also caused people to believe they are seeing UFO's. Ball lighting is very rare and Scientists are still not sure if it exists. They have been known to go inside houses and hit a wall and disappear. Could these be another thing that 'looks' like a UFO.

I saw a UFO once------- that turned out NOT to be a UFO!

Back in the early 1980s at VERY high altitude directly overhead was what appeared to be 6 triangle shaped objects around a larger 4 engine aircraft------ I watched it for about 2 minutes and wondered about it???

Then in about 1989 I discovered we had the 117 Stealth fighter --- what I had seen were several 117s being refueled by a tanker aircraft. Ha.

Yes I have seen a couple in my days, One in particular was a black triangle shape just hovering with no sound and no lights and then just took off into nowhere so fast that it seemed impossible, Do I thionk it was an Et ship? No i dont believe it was, But it was an unidentified flying object to me and I could not explain it but probly somebody could, To me it made no sense but that dont mean it was an alien ship, More than likely a military craft of some type, I will never know what it was but someone does,, Its not ET for sure, I hold a neutral postition on the subject of ufos as in et ships because they can not be proven to exist nor can it be proven they dont exist so I stay nuetral on the matter,,

Happy Holidays;

Most of the people have but I never saw one. It is reported that so many people has seen many lights in the sky which are said to be UFOs. But it is also reporeted that half of these are fake sightings. People must have seen aeroplanes or radiations that they thought to be UFOs. But we can't rule out the UFO sightings. There sure is another form of life in our space.

I have never seen a UFO in my life. But that doesn't mean one should rule out the possibility of aliens.

Yes, I have seen plenty. Being mostly rational, and not the type to get carried away by cheezy sci-fi and tawdry media "stories", I would explain them with the MOST likely explanation, and that is that they were all weather balloons, Earthly aircraft in unusual light, birds, odd clouds and any other myriad possibilities.

I would not assume that just because I don't know what they were, then they must have been aliens! this is the LEAST likely explanation, and why so many accept it is a subject for social and psychological study.

Millions of people have seen UFOs. No one has ever seen an alien space ship. They don't exist. Interstellar distances are to vast. Aliens may exist (although I don't think so), but if they exist then they are happily living their alien lives on alien planets in distant solar systems. They have never been here.
