Any software, other than the operating system, needs to be renewed to keep current.

The signatures in Norton change daily. New threats are discovered each hour. If you keep the original Norton it will run but will not be current. Bad choice. Renew the subscription and keep it current. It's a cheap way to keep your system clean of all virus. Repair bill will run about $50 each time. $39.95 can renew your Norton and that's an annual price.

Go renew it. Pay me now or pay me later.

Preferably with Dell. So when you have an issue it's a one-stop fix. Call the Dell and say the laptop/computer is messed up. If you go with 2 different vendors they will make you a dog chasing it's tail!

Instead of spending your bucks on Norton, why not use one of the "free" anti virus programs that are available for download from the net. I've been using these programs for quite a few years and they have worked very well for me. Here are the URLs for some of this software:

it comes with a trial, yes you have to renew it(anualy) i suggest deleteing norton and downloading avast antivirus
