Save your lock of hair before he goes because its going to be shave-in. I wish you both the best of luck and do me a favor, and thank him for me. His strength along with others is what makes this a great Nation.

For males during boot camp their hair must be cut. However, after boot they are allowed 3 inches on the top and shaved sides.
For females they have to have their hair a certain length I believe it is no longer than 2 inches below shoulder level, however, while in uniform they must roll up and bun there hair.

Yes my brother had to have gis head shaved for boot camp. If I were you I would do it the day or two days before he leaves. Its also cheaper if you do it. And if you have to buy the equiptment to do it, save it because you will need it again when he comes beck from boot camp.
Hope this helps, and I hope he has a good time at boot camp.

Yep, they did it to my brother and my best freind. They are both in the military. It is shaved down to 1/4 of an inch all over thier blessed heads. Both of them are thankfully home right now and on leave! Yipee! My best friend is talking about going back while my brother is in school! Go ahead and shave his head before he leaves! The do it because if in combat they don't want the enemy to be able to grab the soldiers by the hair!

yes and he will have to keep it cut short. I love the military hair cut (a little longer on top short on the sides) Of course my hubby likes his shaved all the same length and keeps it that way.
Before my hubby left for basic he let his hair grow out.

It will be cut very short. The decision to go bald is up to him, however. Don't sweat it, child: hair grows back.

Hell yeah! No hair survives! When I went to bootcamp I remember they cut your hair so fast that you have some patches of hair longer than others. Its a mess.
