I wouldn't be as disrespectful as calling them stupid names because for crying out loud they are real people's names. I think everyone should respect what a person wants to name their child. If I see one more stupid question about "ghetto names" I'm going to scream. All the boring names listed on this question are already the names of a million people. Seriously who needs another George or Becky? I'm sick of those. You should also remember that it may have something to do with culture or religion. Some people can be so ignorant that they don't even consider that. The next time a "ghetto name" irks you remember this, NO ONE IS NAMING THEIR CHILD TO PLEASE YOU, SO GET OVER IT.

Yup. When I have kids, I already have my list made, and the closest I get to the trendy names is Hayden, and thats because I have liked that name a LONG time, since before it got super popular. Also Peyton, but thats because my GRANDMOTHER liked that name when she heard it on TV when they were talking about Peyton Manning, and she is gone now and I loved her dearly, and I would like to think she would have liked her great-grandson's name. But yeah certain names are getting WAY overused, like Aiden and Ava, while others are getting just plain stupid, like La'raerae and stuff.

I'd like to see my own name be used more- Laura. Its simple and pretty. granted, its hard to say when you are little, ( I called myself roara until I was 2) but it just rolls off the tongue after awhile. Also, what is wrong with names like Mary and Jacob? Good solid names, not the silly ones people are using now-a-days!

Yep. I work at an attorney's office.. and I get aggravated when people get offended when you ask them how to spell their names. I'm sorry that "De'Markeleonna Aeri'jyaukiata" is not a name that just rolls off the tongue and on to a piece of paper. Most of the time the dang girl can't even spell her OWN name! And those are her FIRST and MIDDLE names. Her last name has 4 letters. Go figure.

Well, to each there own, but I do agree, it sounds ridiculous. Naming your child princess is no longer unique if it becomes so popular that it is actually common. I say, name your kid Sara. Sure there are a lot of people named Sara that are my age, but rarely do you hear it for babies born today. If you want your kids name to mean princess, name her Sara and then just nickname her princess- it all means the same thing anyway!

Yes, very. I named my children (what I think are) strong names that they won't be embarrassed of. Their middle names are after people who mean something not only to my husband and I but also them. I am so sick of these people naming their children these ridiculous names like La'raerae and Laquanda or whatever. You know what they say, "you can have a license to have a car but you don't need a license to have a child". Some of these people need a license for NAMING their children! Thank you for putting this out there!

Yupp. i am just as tired of "Spontanious" (for real! Called Tanny!) as I am of Mhaidysonne or the -aden trend, especially Jayden and Hayden. Yuck! I like traditional names like Charlotte, Grace, May, Lily, Faith, etc.

Ohhh yes. What happened to "real" given names, spelt "properly"?

A'pr-what? Apricot, did you say? Oh well. It goes with Peaches and Apple. Neveah knows what some halfwit will dream up next.

judy, i have heard that urban legend before. admit to it.
i think a person is not responsible for their own name so there is no point in getting upset with them. a person is given their name from their parents as the first gift they will ever recieve, and it lasts for ever. I agree that some people may take it too far, but a person is a person, not their name, colour, language, etc.
i think that parents who give their children "Uneek" names aer just expressing their feelings that their child is the most "Precious", "Special", thier "Diamond", etc.
Give them a break, Sarah, Bob, Joe and all you other regular people.
singed,
Aviv (a regular name in a different language)

Yes. How does one even fill that in on forms?? Sometimes there's no bubble for an apostrophe in the first name section.
