I would be incredibly upset but at the same time if I knew they were going through a hard time I would probably try and suck it up. Set limits and boundaries for the small kids though and make them known to your Aunt. You still have the right to decide what happens in your room even when you are sharing.

I've done that, and know many other families who have, too. it's just part of life and helping care for family. I even have hosted friends down on their luck in my small place. It's just what you do when people need you.

But of course when setting up my room for others to use over time, there are things to be put away. Why should little kids ask mommy what velvet-covered handcuffs are for?

I would start to talk to my mom....then it would end up in me yelling at her telling her that i couldn't deal with those ****** kids and that its my room and I have 3 other aunts and 2 other uncles why can't they ****** live with them...or go to grandma's house because there is 2 extra rooms! and i would go outside for a while and be so pissed i wouldn't talk to anyone for a few days

Whatever happened to love? I read the answers. Those are the little cousins and they are family. If we can't love family, then we can't love. For sure it is a sad situation in this world to be without love for our own family. "Things" don't matter, family matters. It is so sad to realize that this world has its priorities wrong.

There were a few good and loving answers, but most were wrong.

I'd be polite for the first two days, then after that, they need to find other arrangements. Relatives start smelling like dead fish after a week.
