Global warming is being seen as the culprit in the changing migratory patterns of many species of bird worldwide.

"A new study to be released this week by the National Wildlife Federation and the American Bird Conservancy suggests that the effects of global warming may be robbing Maryland and a half-dozen other states of an important piece of their heritage by hastening the departure of their state birds."

"Fall is migration season for thousands of of bird species. Some bird experts say that global warming is changing the migration patterns of those birds."

"Australia's migratory birds are arriving earlier and leaving later - most likely due to global warming, a new study has found."

"Climate change may not be noticeable to all humans yet, but the behaviour of birds suggests the seasons have already changed.

A researcher at the weather bureau has found that some spring migrating birds are arriving many days earlier than they used to.

Another critically endangered species has adapted its breeding cycle in response to climate change.

The change in migration patterns of birds has been well documented in the Northern Hemisphere, but in Australia there has not been much long-term monitoring."

Bird migration has been changing for years; time of migration onset is shifting, and increasingly birds that would have moved farther south are hanging around until later on or even overwintering. You may be seeing some of the big flocks of blackbirds/starlings that hang around all winter, though - they form huge Passenger Pigeon-like flocks and move around the area especially in the evening when they head back to the roost. They're not actually migrating; it's more like a daily dispersal to find food and then a re-gathering to the roosting area to sleep.

Yes, according to Al Gore, if you buy his whole package, humans are messing up birds migratory behavior. I live in NE Ohio too and I have seen birds still migrating also. Evil humans.
