not old enough to draw social security but old enough to get a free coffee at Mc Donalds, I believe you used to be able to retire at 55 now with the way the goverment has screwed up the system * by borrowing from it* it is required to be 62 early and 65 full benifits

As far as the government and senior discount places are concerned, I am tagged with the Sr citizen label. But as far as my outlook on life and ability to get on with it, I am no more old than I was at 40. Everything still works, for which I am eternally grateful, and I don't feel any different than I ever have. Except smarter, and more experienced. And a bit more laid back now that I am not scrambling to make a living.

I'm 52, retired and a member of AARP. I guess that means I'm a senior, although I feel like a younger person forced into retirement due to disability. To be able to drive again would be nice. My take on the age groups is: 18-29 young adult. 30-59 middle age.60-79 senior. 80-99 elder, and 100+ centenarian. Anything over 112 is 'cen-teenager'. :)

At what age do you consider a senior citizen? I'm over 60 but not old enough yet to get social security. I love the way social security describes age. Between 55 and 62 you are called "advanced age" but after 62 you are referred to elderly.
Personally, I still work everyday and certainly dont consider myself "old" so I dont like labels.

I just hit the big 65. I guess that makes me a senior citizen,
but I don't think of myself as one. I do get senior discounts,
and I collect social security. You can do that at 62.
