I like Jackson. It is a way to honor your mother. Or maybe you can pick a masculine name from her first name.

First of all, turn your caps lock off and STOP SHOUTING AT US. All caps is both rude and unnecessary.
Jackson is a surname, not a forename. And yes, everyone will call him Jack. Since you too are Jackie, I'd say have Jackson as a middle name. It would be nice to keep it.
Xavier seems to be popping up all over the place - and remember, this kid has to learn to spell. Xavier Jackson works, though.
Tristan is getting very popular also. Tristan Jackson is a bit of a mouthful, to me.
How about Thomas Jackson? If you want to make it somehow "different" he could be Tam for short
Or Christopher Jackson, known as Kit or Kester

Tristan is actually quite a masculine and strong name to me! I think you're better off going with Tristan Xavier, since people will definitely end up calling Jackson Jack for short lol. Also, yeah, people might think you just named him after yourself lol, since you're name is Jackie after all.
I love Tristan, but if you're still looking for other names, what about: Dominic, Christian, Aidan, Brady, Brody, Grant, Blake, Oliver, Marco, Marcus, Leo, etc (try the website www.nymbler.com).
But if you love the name enough, definitely use it. Otherwise, you might end up regretting switching to another name lol.
Good luck and congrats!!!

I prefer Tristan, personally. Much as I like the significance of Jackson for you, I have to agree with your hesitation, given the obvious (popular!) Jack nickname and similarity to your own name. I'd perhaps reserve Jackson for a future middle name, to avoid those issues.
But Tristan is a handsome choice, and I wouldn't worry about it seeming "soft." After all, it's quite a well-liked name at the moment -- recently rejoining the top 100, but not nearly as common/overused as Jackson (at 36). So familiar and even popular, but not at all trendy or done-to-death. Very comfortable level of usage, in other words, and one that will ensure most find the name as masculine and classic as it truly is. Very handsome choice. ;)

I guess we think alike! I named my son Tristan but the other name I was considering was Jaxen. I didn't like "Jack" either so I was going to go with the X in the name, Jax just looks and sounds better than Jack. I don't think one is better than the other, I just waited until I held my son for the first time to decide on his name. I figured if he was calm and light it would be Tristan and if he was loud, independent and darker it would of been Jaxen. Thats just how I looked at it. I don't know if I was much help but I found it fascinating that we like the same names! Good Luck!

I like the name Tristan. But my suggestion is that you prepare more than one name and decide on the spot. Sometimes a chosen name just doesn't match a baby - when you hold your son in your arms for the first time you'll feel which name to choose!

I prefer Jackson, and its nice that you want to honor your mother that way. But, if you don't like Jack, perhaps you should go with Tristan, as people are likely to call him Jack.
My other suggestion would be to turn off the caps...
