No I do not think she martyred herself. It is more like making a big mistake by believing Islam will protect her. She even said that, I qoute, "Islam's biggest teaching is protecting the women, so I do not think anybody will attack me", unqoute.
The mistake was, yes no true muslim will hurt a woman, man and child or the old or the weak, but terrorists are not true muslims. They hide under Islam to further their political aspiration by murdering man, woman, child, the old and the weak which is contrary to Islamic teachings.

What do you expect from a good person having mass support behind her? She knew this could happen to her.She had said so to many. But, she was not a coward. Her tragic death will not go in vain.I don't think the people of Pakistan will forgive all those who are responsible for this.A new era will usher in Pakistan Politics and I am sure , the nation will be able to find a suitable leader to free Pakistan from US and Terrorist domination.

From what little I know yes, she came back knowing farewell that here chances of winning were not good, as well knowing that her mere presence was adding more fuel to a already explosive situation. As to her bravery, I think it was more about ego than bravery.

It's clear from interviews that she gave before she returned to Pakistan that she knew it was likely. She chose to stand up for what was right and work to restore freedom to Pakistan.
while Bush andcompany sully America's name by supporting the dictator she died fighting. So much for the Bush claims about "spreading democracy."

She knew attempts would be made on her life and still was campaigning openly. I guess this does make her a martyr doesnt it. For freedom and democracy and equal rights for women in a predominantly male dominated area of the world.
