hi mate
with the 8400gs and the sli motherboard you should be looking at at least a 550watt psu, this will be ok for future upgrades and will also be ok if you add any extra drives, optical drives ect
however theres a excellent utility called the "eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5" from http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp,this is a simple utility, just enter the specs of your p.c(processor, graphic card, hard drives ect) and the calculator will give you a approx amount of power needed to run your p.c or proposed p.c
as a rough guide my p.c(intel pentium 4h.t ,2gb ddr ram,geforce 7600gt,2 x hdd(1 x s-ata,1 x p-ata),1 x dvdrw drive) and my p.c only requires 219watts of continuous power,and with a 550watt ez-cool psu intalled i have more than enough
you also need to take into consideration extra cooling(fans, water cooling) and extra usb2.0 devices, and if you add a second video card at a later date that requires power then this will have to be taken into consideration
so a 550watt psu is what you need,this is a good model(550W EZcool Silent pPFC Power Supply AMD & P4 Ready 12cm Silent Fan 24Pin 6xPCI SATA...http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=132721)
any problems let me know
good luck mate !

About 450 -500 watts will do very nicely, although go for around 550-600 if you want to upgrade the processor and graphics card later.

From eBay? You must be kidding!!! "Penny wise AND pound foolish".

You are asking for trouble, buy, new brand name stuff from reputable sources so you get at least a basic warranty.

In the end, it will be cheaper.
