you would also be getting rid of onside kicks...which are vital for last minute comebacks...think before you ask brotard.

Kickoffs are run back for touchdowns a lot. If you watched a Chicago Bears game this season you'd know about a guy named Devin Hester who is only in his second season and is already one of the best returners ever. Kickoffs are the most exciting part of the football game for me. Some of the most memorable football plays ever were on kickoffs, such as the Music City Miracle.

I think the kickoff return (and punt returns) are the most exciting aspect of the game. Like it was said above, it's a huge momentum shifter (best example is the Packers' last Super Bowl win when Desmond Howard destroyed the Pats' hopes by returning a kickoff for a TD). The next time you see a kick returner running down the sideline about to score, watch his teams' sideline

1) No. Kickoff returns are huge for field position.
2) Players get injured on any given play of a game. What is the difference?

Have you watched this season. Didn't they already set a record this year for Returns for TDs. It's a big advantage, especially if a team has only 40 seconds left on the clock to win the game. Remember in 2000 the music city miracle upset by the Titans over the Bills. That is a big reason to keep it.

it took tampa bay almost 30 years to run one back. a lot of games have been won at the end with a kick off return with just seconds left.. if the player is in fear of getting smacked he can call for a fair catch , and if the other team is lucky they can stop the opponent at the 1 inch line and make them go 299' and 11 -1/2" to score. and they also say , you are always one play away from being injured for life

That is a idiotic thought.....then get rid of special teams completely?.... that is 1/3 of the game, just the thought of a team breaking one for a touchdown or a long run back is exciting!!! If special teams were eliminated that would make the game less intensive and boring.....most of the players are back-up to the starters injury usually is not as critical, unless it is Hester!!

That's part of the game. Even if a return is almost never ran back for a touchdown the team has a chance to do it. And with a return its up to how good the player is to whether or not they get good field position.

NO not at all, it is the biggest momentem changer in the game, and you can get GREAT field postion with them if you have someone like devin hester, and some times they dont score a TD but they make it to the 10 or 20 yard line
