Cummings mostly USED lower key, and in doing so was like the great Don Marquis i.e. Archie the "hunt and peck" cockroach. Of necessity, Archie hopped from key to key.on an old fashioned typewriter. It worked for him! Unlike Marquis, Cummings did use some capitals.

He didn't want to be like everyone else. Cummings had a seroius love for the off-beat.
