Yes but that has to be qualified as the US wants a democracy that thinks along the same lines as the US that means no fundamentalist, no secular based government. I personally dont think we will find the type of government that we want there

I haven't followed Bhutto closely, but I was concerned about all of the controversy that seemed to follow her and her family for decades. Were they good and victims of the bad element, or were they corrupt and it was brought to light? I don't know.
American people want democracy for all, but whether the Bush Administration does or not most like depends on whether Bush would get his way somehow. He never supported anyone that was against what he believed in.

Bush has been sending $10 billion a year to prop up Musharaf's dictator ship--money even the Bush administration admits Musharaf uses to maintain his dictatorship and oppress the Pakistani people, not fight the terrorists.
So--skip the rhetoric. Base don bush's actions, he supports a dicatator in Pakistan, not the pro-democracy movement.
Again--ACTIONS. I don't care about Bush's rhetoric.

The U.S. always want "democracy" everywhere, but they always fail on purpose, like they do in Iraq, Pakistan, Haiti.... let's face it, the U.S. doesn't want nothing good for other countries but themselves!
