I got into both schools, my two favorites, but are completely different schools. Pitt is huge, lots of choices whereas everything at MCPHS is in one big building. I like both schools and it's so hard to decide. I got into Pitt's 2+4 pharmacy program and the 0+6 pharmacy program at MCPHS.
I know Pitt has a great reputation in healthcare, but MCPHS is known for its pharmacy. I got $6000 scholarship from MCPHS and none from Pitt.
I've searched around the internet, and everyone said MCPHS is HARD to get into, even harder to get into than USP. I don't get it. their requiremen and average SAT is pretty low. and I got wait listed at USP. is MCPHS really a good school with a good reputation, compared to Pitt??

These schools offer completely different experiences. Look at the reviews on studentsreview.com, theu.com and collegeconfidential.com. MCPHS doesn't offer the full college experience. Find out what percentage of its freshman class actually graduate as pharmacists in 6-years. It's not as high as you'd think.
Since there are numerous hospitals on the Pitt campus, there are great opportunities for internships, research work, etc. If you decide to change majors at Pitt, you will still have lots of choices. If you change majors at MCPHS, you will be much more limited. The scholarship at MCPHS is a drop in the bucket financially compared to the cost of Pitt.
If you actually have a guaranteed admission to the 2-4 pharmacy program at Pitt, it's worth it's weight in gold. It's extremely competitive to get into the School of Pharmacy without the guarantee. Without the guaranteed admission, you might be safer trying to go to MCPHS if you're 100% determined to major in pharmacy.
You might also check out whether you can still apply to SUNY Buffalo, which offers a pharmacy guarantee to applicants who declare pharmacy as a major on their apps and do well in all math and science classes in yrs 1-2. SUNY Buffalo is about the size of Pitt, the guarantee puts admission into the pharmacy school within your own control, and the school typically offers pretty good scholarships.

Attending Pitt, I can tell you it's pharmacy reputation is very steller. It recieves a lot of applicants and is difficult to get into. I love Pitt. I'm in my third year and it has so much to offer. Many different schools, hundreds of majors, minors, certs. Tons of buildings, and oakland is a great place to live IMO. I've never been to Uconn so I can't compare, but the rankings speak fairly loud. Also consider this, I doubt the scholarship from UConn will make up for the out-of-state tuition. Not to mention the fact that Uconn is probably a big drive for you. Often freshmen want to get away from home, but find out later that itd be nice if they weren't "really far away" 2-3 hours is about tops.

Yes, as mentioned above, Pitt's Pharmacy program is one of the best in the nation, very few people would dare turn that down. The reason you didn't get a scholarship is because Pitt doesn't need to give them, their programs are so good they are in high demand.

I am a student as MCPHS in the pharmacy program, and actually I've never heard of Pitt. MCPHS is the oldest pharmacy school in the nation. It's program is tough, which is why not everyone who starts as a freshman finishes. In order to get into the 3rd year, which is the first professional year, you need at least a 2.7 GPA and to keep that up until you graduate. In all the professional classes, the lowest grade you can get is a C. That weeds people out and separates the people who are just there and the people who want to be there. Yes MCPHS is small, but you get to know everyone, and it's in a great part of Boston, right near the hospitals and is a member of the colleges of the Fenway. I've attended other colleges, and I can tell you I've had a great time at MCPHS. It's been very tough, but it's all training me for the actual professional years and the career. I would say that you are doing the right thing asking people for their opinion, but I'd try to visit each school and talk to some of the students there for their opinions too. Chances are, they will give you their honest opinion. But just consider everything, and the decide. Best of luck! If you have any questions feel free to email me.
