10 years ago I was Mmmbbopping to Hanson, Spicing up my life with the Spice Girls, holding on for one more day with Wilson Philips, getting knocked down by Chumawama and living in a babie work where life was plastic and it was fantastic by Aqua. Am I embarrassed? No, I think every 11 year old was getting down to all those "hits" at the time. I never said I was proud of it though... LOL.
Embarrassing came about 2 years later when NSYNC became my obsession. Seriously, when I say obsession I literally mean it. My poor parents for having to put up with me...
80's Man: HAHA! The Macarana.. I freakin' loved that song when it came out. (sad but true) I remember going to my aunts wedding and DRAGGING my dad up on the dance floor so he could do the dance with me. I actually have a picture from that occasion dancing to it LOL!!
Aee macarana, aeya! (or whatever the hell the lyrics said) LOL.
80s Man: I think it's so hillarious because everyone including myself went around singing the song as if we really knew what the hell they were saying. We all just kind of mumbled sounds together that we thought sounded close and went with it. Hey I should of used that song for the question you asked about thinking a song said one thing when it really said something else. LOL o man.. I'm still laughing at that song. Now I'm going to have it stuck in my head all day. THANKS A LOT! Lol

I wouldn't say I'm embarrassed, but I don't really listen to most of what I liked 10 years ago. I was a huge Backstreet Boys fan, and Nsync and other bands similar to them. I suppose what embarrasses me in the sheer number of albums by those two bands that I acquired during my period of obsession. It still takes up a huge chunk of my cd rack. I even liked Britney Spears and others, but mostly I enjoyed that she filmed her first video at my high school. While I don't listen to most of that much anymore, many of those songs will always hold a special place in my heart.

10 years ago- Well, I was sixteen. I was really into Led Zeppelin, Nine Inch Nails, Van Halen, and assorted mainstream metal bands. I hadn't really discovered as much of the underground or foreign metal yet. My only really embarrassing band was Korn. Horrendous.
20 years ago- For a bonus, I'll give you this one as well. At six, I was listening to a lot of 50s doowop, Beach Boys, Billy Squier and Led Zeppelin.
Hell, except for the Korn, I'm pretty proud of myself.

Well...
10 years ago...I was five. I thought The Little Mermaid was the best singer in the world. Lol. So, I'm guessing this is a question for people in their 20's. Right?

not really, i hate all of the bands i liked a couple of years ago (10 years ago i would have been 4, and not into music yet) but i think if i hadn't liked them, then i'm not sure if i'd be into the same music that i am today.

Most of the stuff I listened to 10 years ago, heck even 20 years ago I still listen to today. So my answer to your question is no.
