Dysfunctional family?

I have a brother in law and he seems to like items. He buys new things all the time, then he gets bored buys some more. He has a daughter that is one year old. He makes her pose and takes her picture then he sends the picture to a lot of family member and friends through his e-mail. I remember when he asked my sister to marry her, he video taped it and sent the video to everybody in our family through his e-mail. I thought that was a little odd. He also edited the video as well, put graphics on it. He buys trailors, furniture, high definition tv., pool table, and the list goes on. He does more things that I think is weird but does anybody know why he does this? Is it weird? Is he trying to make a perfect family?

If he buys a lot of things without a good reason other then just wanting it, it's a sickness. Some people try to buy material things to make up for something their lacking. You can't buy happiness, only temporary. Best of luck to you.

he's
a) really rich (cuz of the stuff he buys)?
b) proud of his daughter, my aunt and uncle do this with their kid too, and they're not dysfunctional
c) wanted everyone to know how much he loves your sister, he must have been happy and in love common give the guy a break..

hes not trying to make a perfect family. he probably has an ego that shows up sometimes

All families are dysfunctional - it's just how it works.
If your BIL is not going into debt, and he's not doing porn pics of his daughter, and his wife doesn't mind, one must ask why is this your business?

he is doing one of 2 things.
1. trying desperatly to fill a void in his life with material posetions. or
2. trying to compensate for a very short penis.
in either case, i think you should try to convince your sister to drop him NOW!

If your sister is okay with what he does and buys then there is NO PROBLEM...
