The first thing that comes to my twisted mind is that only real vegetarians can have them followed closely by where are all the artificial vegetarian beans.
I saw a warning tag on an iron that advised the user not to try and press their clothes while they still had them on. I'm not sure if that made so much sense as to be nonsense or if it just pointed out the abilities of people who want pressed clothing.

My friend is a vegetarian, and I guess some beans and other canned vegetables can be processed in animal broth. I wasn't aware of it until she asked a waiter at a place we ate how it was cooked.

Some beans are cooked with "salt pork" or other pork products. There ae some vegans who would not eat those since there is "meat" in the beans.

Ha ha Wally you are such a card today as always. I buy Vegetarian chili but it states "with" beans because you can get chili without if you want.

You know I have wondered that several times when I purchased them to throw in chili. I never knew why until I read the other answers.

I always thought they were the 'gentle' ones, that allow the passing of perfume instead of noxious gases.
(Siky, are those salt pork beans really kosher ?)
