I believe that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I live by this, because in my case it is true. I been through more than some people that are 2x my age. I still respect my elders, but some of them don't understand.

Very True! I feel the same way.
It isn't about how long you have been living to reach maturity...it is what has made you mature faster than others.
I feel like I am in the same boat you are. I am only 20 and have many responsibility's, and I have matured faster than others my age that don't have as many responsibility's.
One day others will understand, and see the same thing we see!

Heyy((: I would raise both my hands and agree :D An old woman who has been pampered all her life may still be childish you see. Maturity is really gained through experiences. If one has had a tough life and been through a lot and seen a lot about life, one would definitely be more mature in his/her thoughts.
Don't be so worried about your elders not being able to understand your point of view. Sometimes people just think differently. Well I would say a person mature enough would be open-minded and look at things in different perspectives :) Accept their way of thinking because what they've been through will shape their way of thinking. :)

I totally agree to what you mentioned.. Many people are under the wrong impression that we tend to grow wise with age. In some of the cases the children are actually wiser than their parents.

I definitely agree, some people are made to grow up faster than others. But I also think the older you get the more you can get out of life.. just my perspective.
