She was about to win the election for Prime Minister. She would have shared power with Musharraf and given the government the opportunity to reverse the policies concerning the border villages where Al Quaeda holes up at. It could have been a devastating blow. And she would be in a position to ask the US to help root out the bad elements on the Afgh/Pak border. The only two parties that gain by her death is Sharif her rival and Al Quaeda

Al-Q kills without any regard to who or why. Death and destruction is their primary goal. Anyone who stands in the way of their ultimate desire to control will be on their hit list. They even use their own children as a weapon with death being the result. Oh, and did I mention - they have given a new definition to the term "serial killer".

I don't believe for a moment that Al Qaida had anything to do with it. She was assassinated at the direct order of Musharaff...who would have lost the election in January to her.

He is a corrupt dictator of a corrupt nation...and one of Bush's best buddies.

If that has been determined for sure, and I don't think it has, then Al Qaeda did it to destabilize Pakistan and turn it into a new battleground for the radicals.

1. Because they are sexist pigs. They can't stand women who stand up and make themselves heard.

2. They can't stand democracy. The idea of people choosing their leaders and the leaders being accountable to the people a threat to them.

3. They are childlike savages.

Don't swallow the right-wing propaganda. It was more likely Musharraf that did the deed. She was shot and then a car bomb blew up. It is just as likely that she was killed by one of Musharraf's men and the car bomber saw this and did his thing. This is WAY too complex to just follow along with what Bush and his people say (not that Bush ever lied to us!). They want terrorists to be forced into our minds because they love to keep us in fear.
