I'm not saying Parcells was a bad coach in Dallas, but let's look @ the facts:
-Bill Parcells never won more than 10 games in 4 seasons. Wade Phillips has already won 13 games in 1 season!
-Parcells never had a #1 seed in the 2 playoff appearances(2003 & 2006).

Does this logic sound crazy or does it make sense to anyone else????

I wouldn't say he is better, but I wouldn't say he was worse.

You see, at the time Bill Parcells came in, he was the coach Dallas really needed. But later on, as the team re-matured, and was getting better and better. The only reason Parcells left was because of the stress from the job. After Tony Romo had become the starting QB, this team was starting to look like a really good team. The only reason Wade Phillips has a better record than Parcells on the cowboys is because Parcells left a good team open for any coach. But I do think Wade Phillips really improved Dallas' defense.

I think if Parcells was the coach right now, they'd still be 13-2. He got this team back on its feet and now, they are looking almost as good as they were in the Troy aikman days.

But in all, they're both great coaches.

No, Wade Phillips is not a better Dallas coach than Parcells. Parcells came in and took a bad team to what they are today. Phillips inherited the players Parcells left for him. I doubt that Phillips could of took over the team that Parcells did and turn them into the team that they are today. When Johnson got fired from Dallas and the next head coach won a Superbowl with those same players, does that mean he is as good of a head coach as Johnson? Phillips is the luckiest head coach in the NFL, because of the situation he was given.

Wade Phillips will never be a better coach than Parcells. Wade didn't build this team he's winning with now and I'm sure that Bill would be in a very similar situation had he stayed in Dallas this year.

Wade wasn't worth a damn in Buffalo or Denver.....I don't think much has changed. He just walked into a very solid team.

Wade Phillips is doing good in Dallas due to the players Parcells drafted and picked up in free agency. If Dallas wins the super bowl they should give Parcells a ring as well.

Do you think if Parcells were there this year you would have different record , your blind if you think Parcells did'nt build that team , their are 11 Pro-bowlers that Parcells either drafted or signed to the Cowboys .

I hope all you Cowboy Fans still think Phillips is a good coach when next year your 13 or 14 wins turns into 8 or 9

I judge a coach by what he has done in his 2nd season

Mangini - took the Jets to the Play-offs 1st year 10-6
2nd year - 3-12

Herm Edwards - took the Chiefs to the play-offs 1st year -9-7
2nd year - 4-11

Sean Payton - took the Saints to the Play-offs 1st year 10-6
2nd year - 7-8

People think Jeff Fisher is a good coach i don't he been coaching the Titans /Oilers for 12 seasons now only 4 play-off appearences 1 Super Bowl Appearence

wade phillips was a better coach anyday , in Dallas. but if you look at what Bill Parcel's has done in his career as a coach, then it's Bill Parcel's. But Wade Phillips did a better job in Dallas that Bill Parcel's could ever do.

I understand what you are saying bro and this year I have to say he is. I mean Bill did what he could and took them as far as he possible could, but Wade is a better fit in dallas. I dont know if wade wouldve made them contenders from scratch like Bill did but to answer your question, Wade is a better coach in dallas. He's a players coach and when you have as much talent has dallas had since getting T.O. it dosent make any sense not to be this good. Bill couldnt take dallas to that next level and Wade clearly has which will hopefully give us a shot at another super bowl.

by a country mile..

Parcells hasn't won squat with three going on four teams since he last won with the Giants over 20 yrs ago..

it just goes to show..play or coach in NY and NE both and you have the entire self-promoting media and fan base you need to create a myth out of a mediocre and often failure of a career..

look at Randy Moss.like Parcells....he is a miserable quitter who now is some redeemed superstar that can break rules as much as he wants..with almost no calls ever..for shoving Dbs that get penalized for just grazing his jersey when the Patriots need a first down..

Absolutely not.
Parcells built this team. Are you a fan or what

Phillips is a loser that got a good team.
Watch this team go down the drian under this leadership..

Well, I think he's done a good job inheriting someone else's team. Bill Parcells built that team, so I would have to see how things go down the line. In my opinion, he hasn't proven anything yet.
