So we want to find the percentage discount, first we get the discount itself.

74.99 - 45.75 = 29.24
29.24 IS the discount OF 74.99

x / 100 = 29.24 / 74.99

Then cross multiply to get

74.99x = 2924

Divide both sides by 74.99

x = 2924 / 74.99 = 38.99

So that's about 39%
