Irag will become our staging area for our invasion of Iran. Just wait and see. We can't not be at war with someone right?

At first , I didn't know what you were talking about, until I read the link you provide. Obviously , you were being facetious, weren't you?

This is how the article began:

"BAGHDAD - A car bomb detonated in a busy Baghdad market on Friday, police and hospital officials said, killing at least 14 people and ending what had been a relatively quiet holiday period in the Iraqi capital.

At least one woman and a child were among the dead, a police officer said on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to talk to the press. Both the officer and a hospital official who also would not give his name, said 14 people were killed and 64 wounded.

The popular market in Tayaran Square — a predominantly Shiite area that has been targeted by insurgents in the past — was full of shoppers heading home from Friday prayers. In late May, a car bomb killed 23 people in the square.".................................

Well,14 dead including children and 64 wounded and mutilated sounds like terrorism to me. How would it sit in St.Louis,Missouri or Oakland,CA...day after day after day?

We have done such a great job "defeating terrorism" where we find it (or should I say "where we create it") that I can't for the life of me understand why there isn't a universal clamour for our intervention to help stamp out terrorism. Why isn't every country that feels threatened beating a path to our door, begging "Invade us,
invade us!" ?
What next, you ask? Wherever our elected messianic leaders wish to take us. We will bring our brand of democracy and force it down throats whether these be willing to pay the awful price for it that we guarantee will be charged or not!

I guess that someone thinks that our troops get fat and lazy and bored if they have to sit around on their homeland bases all day waiting for someone to attack the U.S.A. We have to stir up a little action somewhere so our soldiers can go kick butt somewhere in them thar furrin parts.

Thanks for the link and the question. You do have a sense of humour.

Terrorism is 'defeated' in Iraq? I guess you'll be moving there soon then? Starting a new job, building that dream house of yours in the suburbs of Baghdad?

Get real, the job is a very long way from being done in Iraq.

Cheap oil prices? Iraq reportedly increased its oil production from 1.5 million bbl/day to 1.9 BILLION bbl/day. Considering worldwide output has been around 81 million bbl/day, we now have so much oil that gas will drop to pennies per gallon.

Oh, you mean that's a typo?

Kicking the dog next door doesn't have much effect on the pack of wolves preying on your sheep.

If we ever reach the point where we can leave Iraq, maybe we'll actually start fighting the war on terror again.

Amazing how hard it has been to find examples of your link isn't it? Our success seems to really be ticking you off.

The following link is an anti-Iraq war site. Using their figures, it's hard to argue that we're succeeding.

Still, to answer your question, bringing peace and democracy to Iraq has not defeated terrorism. We will need to remain vigilant and continue to do what ever is necessary to help keep America and the WORLD safe from these sub-human parasites. Fortunately, the world seems to be waking up to this reality so the job should become easier.

The only way terrorism will be defeated is when and if the good Muslims stand up to the extremist Muslims. They will have to do it from within. I don't see that happening anytime soon, even though it is their people being killed. They know where the insurgents are hiding and won't turn them in. It is hard to feel sorry for them. It seems they would rather live under terrorists than be free.

Bush just got 70 BILLION in the latest spending bill to fight the war in Iraq, but since we are "winning" and since it is budgeted he might as well just give it straight to Haliburton since they were going to get a lot of it anyway. Pakistan may pop up on the radar in the near future and preempt Iran so maybe we won't have to go to far. We seem pretty unconcerned with Afghanistan so that's probably out.

You would have to give the government entire control to stop terrorism. Meaning a totalitarian government. Have you heard of terrorism in North Korea.

Terrorism has become the religion of Islamic Extremists. It is the cloak they hide behind to do their dirty deeds. Hopefully the Muslim people will see through this smoke-screen and stand up for their religion, presently being hi-jacked by the terrorists. Until then............they are fueling the flames of hatred.
