alternitives would be appreciated but i dont want a light on all night.....
i can fit a heat mat in but i cant get the wire out of the viv to the plug socket how can i get the wire into / out the viv to the plug ???

The heat mat goes OUTSIDE the tank.

DO NOT put in inside. You can put it on the side of the glass, or under.

Your reptile would most like also get burned if you tried keeping the heat mat inside the tank. They're meant to be stuck on the outside of the glass.

These things do come with instructions you know.

The heat mat I have has adhesive on it and it sticks to the underside of the tank. The heat mat is not supposed to go inside.

Are you sure you even need a heat source at all? Cresteds do fine at normal room temperature in the 70'sF during the day with a drop at night to the 65F - 70F range.

dont use a heat mat
they are absolutly rubbish
they dont even get warm
he might be alright with room tempertature but just to be sure i would suggest a heat light
