Your head in business matters, your heart in personal matters.

It depends on how dumb your heart is. Or, really, whether you mean the heart or the gut. All these body parts, ultimately, are connected to the head, and it just depends on which part of the head is right.

Decisions made by the gut turn out well. Decisions made by the head turn out depending on your competence to make them, but you can always get somebody who is competent to do the head work. Decisions made by the heart are okay if they are in agreement with the principles of the head, and if the head has good principles. I would not pick the heart if they're not in agreement.

Balance the two. They both have input, but not always equally. When they are in the right proportion depending on the situation, you feel harmonius and can make a correct choice. For example, you may need to choose a puppy based on head and heart, but heart may become more important. In choosing a tax accountant, the head is dominant.

My best advice is to not make any important decisions until your head and heart are in agreement.

You are best off understanding why they disagree first.

following your heart ranks just slightly above following your genitals. these things don't possess the capacity to reason or make decisions, and will often guide you into situation your head would rather not be in.
