Brezzy: I'm only asking because of a small disagreement with a friend who has absolutely no faith in others. She seems to believe that the majority of people wouldn't help.

For all who assume that I wouldn't, you're wrong. Just asking to prove a point.
For all who assume that I am racist for asking such a question, you're wrong. I'm an American living in the Middle East, & most of my friends are Arabs.

What the hell kind of questions is this supposed to be? You should help anyone who's hurt in the middle of the street. It has nothing to do with their race or religion. It's this kind of mentality is the reason why other countries hate Americans so much.

It depends on how badly they were hurt and what type of environment they were in. If it was the middle of the day in the business district downtown, yes--I'd definitely stop to help, assuming there weren't any shifty looking characters mulling around. If it was late at night and I was leaving a movie theater and walking through an alley/semi-bad area of town, I wouldn't stop for ANYONE (Arab, white or otherwise), but I'd definitely call 911.

of course. people are people regardless of where they are from and what they race/religion is. not doing so is just racist paranoid., and ignorant. I live in NYC and was BLOCKS away from the world trade center during 9-11. I was scared and pissed !!! Saying that, only a few people want to blow thing up and cause havoc to the US who are here. What evil deeds have been done by Arabs since 9-11 ? Zero. Plus if you are a christian American and you decide to let some one die when you could have helped them - what does that say about Christians and Americans ?

Of course. Because it is just the right thing to do period! I would see a couple of people not a couple of Arabs!
BTW, the term "Arabs" is charged and emotional for some. It is kind of like calling an Asian person Oriental. I do not believe you meant any harm by using it I was just putting it out there..

Yes. After all, they are still human. Now, as a member of the military there are certain rules I follow before I give aid though (and it goes for anybody anywhere, regardless of nationality, race, or religion):
1. Give aid first to my own men.
2. Give aid to the wounded men of my allies (Iraqi police and soldiers, for instance)
3. Give aid to innocent bystanders
4. Give aid to enemy combatants if the aid doesn't take away from the mission, doesn't endanger your men, and the wounded have a fair chance of surviving.
Not being a medic, I don't have a moral or legal obligation to tend to enemy wounded, but I will if it doesn't take away from my mission.

Of course....just like I would help anyone else. Just because they are Arabs doesn't mean they aren't human beings.
Bush and Co have turned so many of us into fearful bigots. They have made us believe that every Arab is a terrorist or a hater who is out to do us ill.
I'll be glad when that moron is back under his rock in Crawford where he can no longer do any harm to my country and it's citizens.

Like any decent human being, of course I would.
For those who say they wouldn't, would you ask the person if they were Arab to make sure you shouldn't help them? Would you also make sure that they were Muslim and not Christian?
